I'm dredging up an old thread here to give you guys an update. Any price for the Poulan Pro PPB250E would be too much!

I went ahead and bought one on July 30, 2007. Since then, it has been in the shop for warranty repairs (engine will not stay running/runs only in choke position) at least 3 times (possibly 4) and it is doing the exact same thing.

I tried to contact Poulan today. The number in the owners manual is forwarded to a third party distributor of parts, but they gave me a direct line number. Apparently, they are closed today for the 4th of July holiday.

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 includes provisions stating that if the manufacturer cannot repair the problem after a reasonable number of attempts, they must, at the option of the consumer, refund or replace the product. I am going to try to force their hand on this. Today, not only will the trimer not run unless it is in the START position, it will also not stay in the START position.

If any of you work for shops that provide warranty work for trimmers or mowers, can you tell me if you think my complaint has merit?
