The Salisbury Police Department is investigating several copper downspout thefts on Confederate Avenue in Salisbury, and one on North Fulton Street.
One Confederate Avenue resident reported the latches on a gate in his back yard were broken. He suspects someone was trying to get to his copper downspouts, as well.
Some time has passed since the last report of copper gutters and downspouts being taken, and police said the recent incidents are due to the increasing price of copper.
